“This is a first for me heavy psych/stoner rock hailing from The Philippines, and damn if it isn't some of the finest i've heard in a long time!

“Their EP is called Unostentatious and is a very grounded affair. With a low and earthy sounding tone the four tracks all contain this intense groove. Especially on that second track A Night With A Succubus, what a ride, what a might, and sounding so effortlessly, the way that guitar riffs and solos. Ye gods, what a track”

“Mindspace is perhaps a bit overlong at near sixty eight minutes in length but it’s still a brilliantly surreal journey worth taking with Polymerase creating their own highly stylish take of Cosmic Doom/Stoner Metal which is perhaps some of the finest and original records I’ve heard from the Philippines and South East Asian Heavy Rock scene. Excellent and Highly recommended”

if Polymerase are looking to give listeners an impression of their having a multifaceted sound, they most assuredly do.

POLYMERASE are certainly an interesting band with a refreshing take on the stoner genre, and it feels like something awesome may be brewing in Quezon City. Dreams & Realities I is a rich, layered, intriguing and immersive listening experience that helps you forget the confines of reality for a short while, which is always wonderful. Rating: 7/10

There’s much more to the story, but I’ll let you head to Bandcamp to read the full description. The music itself is great, too heavy at times, but also chill and atmospheric with plenty of space rock tendencies. I love it when bands totally nerd out and create narrative concept albums like this, so this is one I plan on digging more into in the next few weeks.

It's floaty - at its lowest it feels like underdeveloped post-rock, but when it does work, such as on Interplanetary Echoes, particularly in its bulky beginning, there are favourable reminders of Mexico's premier space rock astronauts Vinnum Sabbathi.

It has now been a little over four years since Polymerase put out their debut creation, and it’s just astounding to see how far the act has come in what feels like no time at all. Already showcasing immense growth and the willingness to explore and expand their sound in a fantastic form that leaves nothing to chance nor nothing on the table, it’s the whole of “Mindspace” that we see Polymerase go boldly where they haven’t before, and I cannot wait to see where else they venture.

"Mindspace" an album still rooted in the psych and stoner rock that has become Polymerase's default setting but with more emphasis on the more spatial post-metal aspects of their sound.

8 epic tracks of eerie and melodic progrock with minimalism, stoner and psych vibes! Mesmerising and hypnotic music.
