LUNAR ORBIT
The first album of Gutter Prince, Lunar Orbit, was created around mid-2023. Vincent started the album to separate his ideas from the ones he was using for Mindspace. Whenever he wrote riffs for Mindspace, some of them ended up sounding more like desert rock, so instead of letting those go to waste, he saved them and built an album around them.
The project actually started sometime between 2011 and 2016, though it didn’t have a name back then. It began as a bedroom project for Vincent and was mostly just a way for him to come up with riffs and mess around with guitar ideas. Over time, it went through a few lineup changes and mostly stayed in the jamming phase at Glasstone Studio. Early on, they played with Al Rivera (now the owner of Bear’s Den Records) and Allan Galiga. That lineup didn’t stick, but later they got back together with Ziggy Cerda on drums and Allan on bass. They came up with a few songs and some solid riffs, but the project eventually went on hiatus.
It wasn’t until 2023 that Vincent decided to gather the riffs that had a different vibe from the direction of Mindspace and turn them into what would eventually become Lunar Orbit. He also worked out the bass and drum parts along the way. In addition, he wrote all the lyrics for the album.
